BUSHKILL TO SMITHFIELD BEACH

Join Adventure Sports for a beautiful day trip down the Delaware River from the Bushkill boat launch, located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, down river to Smithfield Beach. Take in the beautiful views of the Pocono Mountains and the calmness of the Delaware River while you float through this scenic national recreation area.

While paddling down this nice winding section of the river, you’ll be surrounded by many beautiful views. You will also pass Turtle Island, Depew Island, the “Jumping Rock” and Poxano Island while on your Poconos canoeing or kayaking adventure.

Take in the natural beauty that surrounds you as you enjoy a peaceful float all the way to Smithfield Beach, where a grassy beach, picnic area, and swimming spots await you. You might see bald eagles, deer, bears, and other local wildlife along the river banks.

This trip typically has calm and easy going water, with a few more rapids than our 6 mile trip. The rapids are still smaller class 1 to 1+ rapids and this trip is usually suited for beginners and people of all ages or experience levels that can handle a longer trip. Most of our customers would consider this an “all day” trip. Although depending on conditions, it can be finished in 3-3.5 hours of actual paddle time, most guests take longer while stopping to swim, float, fish, picnic, etc.
