Start your journey by taking a canoe, kayak, or raft from Smithfield Beach, located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. This recreation area is a great spot to enjoy a picnic, relax on the grassy beach, or even go for a swim.



Once you put in at Smithfield Beach, you’re in for an incredibly fun and scenic float that takes you all the way to the Delaware Water Gap. Take in the beautiful sites and relax under the sun while you float within this scenic national recreation area.



You’ll pass many islands within the river, like Tocks, Labar, Depue, and Shawnee. Along the way, keep an eye out for wildlife like deer, bears, bald eagles, and more. Enjoy mountain views and the sensation of gently flowing water beneath you.



After six miles of canoeing, kayaking, or rafting, you reach the famous Delaware Water Gap, once considered a scenic Wonder of the World. This obvious notch in the Kittatinny Ridge has fascinated travelers for centuries and was once home to some of the most popular summer resorts in the eastern United States. You’re sure to enjoy the view of this impressive geographical marvel.



This trip is mostly calm and easy going water, with some small rapids, here and there. This trip is typically suited for 1st timers and the more experienced, so the whole family can enjoy this fun Poconos kayaking, canoeing, or rafting adventure.
